Montanans Can’t Get Enough Of The Creative Concoctions At Backcountry Burger Bar
It’s no secret that Montanans absolutely love a good burger. It’s also no secret that we’ve got about 1,000 places to get one here in the Treasure State. That being said, the burgers — and the other menu items — you’ll find at Backcountry Burger Bar in Bozeman are truly remarkable. It’s really no wonder that even in this foodie-friendly city, this place can hold its own.
The eatery opened in 2017, taking over the space where the old John Bozeman’s Bistro had been.
He wanted to keep the place fairly simple, offering great burgers and beers that were largely made with local Montana ingredients.
There are 10 different burgers on the menu, and you'll be tempted to try them all (but not on the same day).
The buns are made fresh daily with flour made from Montana wheat, and the team can tell you where each ingredient comes from, from the lettuce to the tomatoes.
The fries are even hand-cut from local potatoes.
You can even order traditional poutine that tastes straight out of Canada.
