There’s A Wine Trail In Missouri And It’s Everything You’ve Ever Dreamed Of

If you’re not from Missouri, you may not know about the wealth of vineyards our state has to offer. In fact, before Prohibition, Missouri was the second-largest wine-producing state in the country. Though we may not lead the ranks now, we still have a good amount of vineyards around that produce top notch wine.

The Augusta Viticulture Area was the first AVA to be federally recognized (8 months before Napa Valley). So what better place to go on a wine trail than the Augusta Wine Trail? Located just 40 miles west of St. Louis, Augusta makes for a perfect weekend trip.

Check out these 10 wineries on the trail:

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:
