It’s Impossible Not To Love This Breathtaking Wild Flower Trail In Missouri
Flowers will soon begin blossoming, turning many parts of the landscape into a colorful artist’s palette. Combine the golden sunshine, a gentle spring breeze, and fields of flowers, and what do you get? One of the best ways to spend a few hours. Breathe in the fresh spring air along this beautiful yet somewhat challenging wild flower trail in Missouri.
Spring means the return of the colorful flowers that paint the Missouri landscape along the Wilderness Trail, tucked in Meramec State Park.
Spanning just over eight picturesque miles, the loop trail promises plenty of natural beauty—from sensational views of the Meramec River to fields of wild flowers.
You'll also cross several flowing streams along the trail. If you don't want to get your feet wet, consider wearing a pair of sturdy, waterproof shoes or boots.
Wilderness Trail also features some hilly areas, predominately the reason behind its moderate rating. If your pup likes to hike, bring him along, too, as long as you remember to leave the trail as you found it.
Most hikers complete the trail in a single day, although you can camp out, if the mood strikes. The trail boasts several backpacking sites that include a fire grill.
Explore the Wilderness Trail and Maramec State Park, open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. from November through March and daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. from April through October.
