Kansas City is pretty green compared to most cities, but it still lacks the lush greenery and plant life that you’d find in more rural parts of Missouri. However, if you head to the East Plaza neighborhood, you’ll be surprised at what you might find hidden away near the intersection of Emannuel Cleaver II and Troost.

With those large parks, the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum and the Country Club Plaza shopping area nearby, it often gets overlooked.

The garden is open year-round, but during the spring it bursts with vibrant colors.

With the stone walls blocking out the surrounding city life, it becomes a peaceful escape.



It's $3 for every 30 minutes and you can pay at the machine or own your phone.

Ewing was a baseball team owner and with the help of his wife, they put their good fortune towards philanthropy. They aimed to improve the lives of others in Kansas City through education and entreprenuership.
