The Short And Sweet Mina Sauk Falls Leads To The Tallest Waterfall In Missouri
Hiking doesn’t necessarily have to have a majestic natural wonder to make it worth the effort. However, sometimes we’re lucky to embark on a trail that’s brimming with natural beauty and a one-of-a-kind natural wonder. This short and sweet trail, for example, leads to the tallest waterfall in Missouri, making it one for the bucket list.
Nestled in Middle Brook, Taum Sauk Mountain State Park certainly counts as a Missouri gem. In addition to boasting the highest point in the state, the sprawling state park is home to...
Mina Sauk Falls, the tallest waterfall in Missouri. You'll find the waterfall, which cascades down 132 feet, along the three-mile Mina Sauk Falls Trail.
You'll definitely want to wear a pair of sturdy shoes or hiking boots for the trek, which is considered easy to moderate by most, that features some rocky terrain.
Along with the uneven terrain, however, you'll be treated to beautiful views. Keep an eye out, too, for small stop signs. If you see one of the stop signs, do not go further. The signs are there to protect fragile ecosystems.
Consider following the trail after a rainfall rather than during a dry spell. A recent rainfall means the waterfall will be particularly beautiful instead of a trickle (or dry).
