When winter rolls around, people all around the country start planning getaways to keep cabin fever at bay and to escape the monotonous schedule that inevitably settles in. Sometimes, locals choose a staycation, where they explore their hometown and surrounding area like tourists. Other times, they escape to warm places that offer an abundance of beaches and fruity drinks. One place that is definitely not worth visiting in the winter: St. Louis. Here’s why:

It's not like Canvasbacks, Rough-legged Hawks, and Short-eared Owls actually come to St. Louis in the winter. Oh, and our baseball team is probably not named after a species you are likely to encounter during this season. Yep, don't expect to hear any birdsong in the colder months.
