In a small town more than an hour south of St. Louis is a little barbecue joint that has been pleasing crowds since 1946. Ewald Buchheit returned to Perryville, Missouri after serving in the U.S. Army as a chef during World War I and opened Ewald’s Bar-B-Q. Last year Ewald’s celebrated their 70th anniversary, they are the oldest family owned and operated restaurant in Perryville.
