Saint Louis Zoo In Missouri Is One Of The Nine Best Zoos In The U.S., According To Travel & Leisure
Animal lovers have it pretty good in Missouri, especially with its many zoos and wildlife parks. Travel & Leisure recently named the Saint Louis Zoo one of the top nine zoos in the United States. The zoo earned props for its more than 500 residents, its free admission, and its conservation efforts, making it a prime destination for Missourians and out-of-state visitors.
The Saint Louis Zoo offers a fun and an affordable way to spend a few hours or an entire day.
While its many residents and free admission are huge selling points, Travel & Leisure also recognized the zoo because of its “innovative approach to animal care and wildlife conservation.”
It notes the zoo’s creation of The Wildcare Institute and The Institute for Conservation Medicine. Since 2014 the Wildcare Institute has supported initiatives in Missouri, and around the world, that helps protect animals from poaching, disease, and takeover of their habitats.
The zoo also makes it easy for everyday Americans to do their part to help animals and the environment, providing tips for Do-It-Yourself Conservation.
