You’ll Want To Spend All Day At This Waterfall-Fed Pool In Missouri

How lucky are we to live in a state brimming with natural wonders? Even if we’re on a tight budget, we can find plenty to do all year around. This waterfall-fed pool in Missouri, for example, promises a day of adventure every season of the year. (Of course, it’s particularly popular with swimmers in the hotter months.) So, pile everyone in the car and head to this natural wonder that’s fun for the whole family.

Embark on a daylong trip to Rocky Falls Shut-Ins, a waterfall-fed pool in Missouri that's popular with visitors all year around.

But, during the warmer months, Missourians and travelers on the hunt for ways to stay cool head to the natural pool for a leisurely dip.

Getting to the falls is easy and fairly quick. Hike along the .01-mile Rocky Falls Shut-Ins Trail, that leads to the spectacular 40-foot waterfall.

Once there, be prepared for huge crowds, especially if you are visiting during the summer. Swim in the pool or climb up the rocks, where the water gushes down.

Of course, you can also visit — and climb the rocks — the rest of the year, too. Don't be surprised, though, if the waterfall isn't as strong in the colder months as it is in the warmer months.

And, if you want to make a day of it, bring along a picnic lunch. The area around Rocky Falls Shut-Ins features fire grills, picnic tables, and bathrooms.
