Stroll Along An Elevated Boardwalk For A Look At The One-Of-A-Kind Primate House At The Saint Louis Zoo
A trip to the zoo might just be the best outdoor outing of all. After all, how can we not ooo and ahh at the adorable animals, interact with some of them, and leave with happy memories? Zoos are always updating their animals’ habitats and visitor experiences, something you’ll definitely want to experience when you walk along the canopy trails to get a peek at the primate house at the Saint Louis Zoo.
You just can't beat a day at the Saint Louis Zoo, tucked in Forest Park and home to more than 12,000 animals, including the always-popular primates.
The Primate Canopy Trails, in fact, made their long-awaited debut during the summer of 2021, after construction began in 2019. It's well-worth the visit to the zoo just to check out the exhibit.
The outdoor expansion created eight brand new homes for the new and old world monkeys and the lemurs. With trees and other natural features, the outdoor homes provide a natural environment for its residents.
Get a close-up look at the brand new primate homes while embarking on your own adventure. Stroll through a see-through tunnel that leads to an elevated boardwalk.
Once you've visited the primates, make sure you have enough time to check out the rest of the zoo, to grab a bite to eat, and to take a ride on the Conservation Carousel (if open).
Have you gone on the elevated boardwalk to check out the primates at the primate house at the Saint Louis Zoo? What’d you think? Share your experience in the comments! If you happen to be on the opposite side of the state, make a beeline for the Kansas City Zoo (especially if you love koalas, their newest guests).
