Branson Overlook, also known as the 165 Scenic Overlook, offers sensational views of Table Rock Lake and Lake Taneycomo all year around. However, for the most jaw-dropping views, head over when the fall foliage is at its peak. You don’t have to hike or even walk as it's just a few steps from the road to the overlook. Even if you don’t have a lot of time, you can enjoy the views from your car.

You’ll need a pair of comfy shoes for the one-mile trek along Elephant Rocks State Park Loop Trail, which leads straight to the magnificent Elephant Rocks. Bring your camera so you can snap photos of both the rocks and the fall foliage that frames the quarry (pictured above).

Enjoy a leisurely autumn stroll along the Osage Bluff Scenic Overlook Trail, which clocks in at just under two miles and is considered easy. The trail is predominately gravel and boardwalk, and you’ll have a bit of a climb to the overlook. However, once you reach the overlook, you’ll be treated to jaw-dropping views of the Osage River, flanked by brilliant fall foliage.

Head to the highest spot in Missouri and a picture-perfect spot for drinking in the fall foliage. The Highpoint Trail at Taum Sauk Mountain State Park measures just under two miles and is rated easy. Just be prepared as the trail can get pretty busy, especially during the autumn.

Although Weston Bend State Park doesn’t have a specific overlook, you’ll be treated to sensational views of the river along the Missouri River Trail. The easy trail spans just .06 of a mile and features an abundance of natural beauty. Be careful as you traverse the predominately flat trail which can be littered with rocks and tree roots.

If you’re up for somewhat of a challenge, follow the Alley Spring Overlook Trail. The trail tallies 1.4 miles and is considered moderate. Be prepared to go on a steep climb that will take you to the overlook, where you’ll get views like the one above.
