Missourians already know how cool Missouri truly is but we’re oven overlooked by outsiders. So, while we were quietly becoming the coolest state in America the rest of the country has just started to notice. There are so many reasons why Missouri is such an awesome state but here are 10 things that are really making the Show Me State stand out as the coolest in the nation.
From a casual nature hike to fly fishing, there is a Missouri State Park perfect for your next weekend trip. With over 90 parks and historical sites under the Missouri State Parks umbrella there is surely a great park near you!
Missouri often gets a bad rep for lacking in cultural and artistic opportunities. Missouri is a great place for creative individuals to work and collaborate. From small business owners to professional artists, Missouri is a great place foster creativity.
Missouri is the barbecue capitol of the nation (move over Texas) and have nationally ranked barbecue joints all across the state. Missouri is also known for regional favorites like St. Louis style pizza and pork steaks.
Head to Westport in Kansas City or The Grove in St. Louis. If you're in Columbia head downtown and if you're in St. Charels you'll want to hit up Main Street. All across the state locally owned restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues are thriving and providing Missourians with great places for dates or fun nights out with friends.
Forest Park in St. Louis was named the best city park in the nation and it's easy to see why. Missouri is unofficially known as the Cave State because of the over 6,000 known caves located across the state. Take a cave tour of many caves in Missouri, visit the cake pumpkin patch, enjoy a glass of wine at the Cave Vineyards, or get married at Bridal Cave. There are so many things you can do underground in Missouri.
Because of Missouri's centralized location a lot of large festivals happen in Missouri each year. From epic music festival to fantastic food festivals there are great events happening all across the state during the summer and fall months.
