The 5.6-mile Little Dixie Lake Perimeter Trail scores a moderate rating and meanders through a forested area. It, too, offers jaw-dropping views of the water. Because it can get quite muddy, you might want to wear waterproof or old shoes.
The scenery alone makes this Missouri conservation area worth a visit regardless of the season.
