Traveling is something we love to do, but it gets bittersweet sometimes. You’ll be away on vacation or traveling outside of the state, and a familiar sight or sound always makes you think of home. These things are sure to elicit a fond memory of the city we love. Have you ever experienced these and felt homesick?
Everyone seems to have a favorite fountain, but the most famous fountains sometimes give us the strongest feelings of homesickness.
Of course, not everyone here is friendly, but when someone starts a conversation with you in a grocery store line, you can't help but remember to kindness of Kansas Citians.

We have a lot of construction that seems to be endlessly going on, but it always feels like home when you're dodging through the orange cones or stuck waiting for the work trucks to roll through.

Those crisp leaves falling to the ground and the lightly wet smell is the perfect addition to the feelings of home.
This also applies to hearing the national anthem and wanting to finish it with "...and the home of the CHIEFS!"

Live music in restaurants or around popular areas is just a common sight in Kansas City. There are so many local groups that you get used to hearing beautiful music wherever you may be. Jazz just happens to be one of the genres that helped make KC so great!
