Boots Court Is An Historic Route 66 Motel In Missouri

Turn back the pages of time when you check into Boots Court Motel, perhaps one of the most popular classic motels along Route 66 in Missouri.

Pull your car, motorcycle, or bike into the private carport next to your room at this Carthage motel, designed and opened by Arthur Boots in 1939. (However, not all rooms feature the carport.)

Then, walk through the door and straight into the past. You'll probably notice pretty quickly that your room doesn't have a TV. (Televisions didn't arrive in Carthage until 1953.) But, every room does have a radio.

So, you can do as those in the 1940s did. Listen to the radio for the news and allow your favorite music to lull you to sleep at night in the motel now owned and being restored by sisters Debye Harvey and Priscilla Bledsaw.

And, for a truly authentic 1940s experience, stay in the room in which Hollywood actor Clark Gable once slept.
