Missourians are known for saying and doing some pretty weird things from time to time, but any Missourian would cringe if they saw another local doing one of these things.

1. Swim in the Missouri River.

2. Add ketchup to a slab of ribs or burnt ends.

No way. The only thing that should ever be added to Missouri BBQ is more Missouri BBQ sauce.
3. Cheer on the Royals.

No self-respecting Cardinals fan in Missouri would ever root for these guys. Even if they did win a World Series championship recently.

Likewise, if you're a Royals fan, you wouldn't be caught dead cheering for the Cards.
5. Rely on the weather forecast.

As hard as the weather people on the news try, a predicted forecast in Missouri is never guaranteed. And it often leads us to scratching our heads if we see a dusting of snow in April.

Our football fans currently hold the record for loudest cheering at an NFL game and we didn't get that record by sitting down and using inside voices, that's for sure.
7. Go on a float trip empty handed.

Well-seasoned locals know that every float trip requires a cooler filled with both food and drinks. Everyone knows that river floating is meant to be a relaxing activity, not a race to the finish.
8. Limit the amount of butter in cakes.

We didn't popularize the Gooey Butter Cake in St. Louis for health reasons. Who cares if it's high in calories? As long as it's high in deliciousness.
9. Run away from a tornado.

Just because we have tornadoes, doesn't mean we're going to abandon home and move somewhere "safer." Tornado warnings on the TV and radio are somewhat common when you live in the Show-Me State.
10. Forget where home is.
