The World’s Oldest Singing Christmas Tree Is In Mississippi And It’s A Must-See
Tradition is a huge part of the Christmas season. And if you’re looking for a new tradition to add to the mix this year, consider Belhaven’s Singing Christmas Tree. Named one of the top “20 events in the Southeast,” it’s sure to become a holiday favorite. Take a look:
Heading into its 86th year, Belhaven’s Singing Christmas Tree is an anticipated holiday event, which draws in thousands of people each year.
So, what exactly is a singing Christmas tree? Only one of the best Christmas traditions in the sate! But to be more specific, it consists of a 35’ tall, Christmas tree-shaped structure that’s packed with over 100 talented singers.
The number of singers has more than doubled since the first performance in 1933, but that’s not all that’s changed. Over the years, the candles held by singers have been upgraded to LED lights.
LEDs aren’t the only element added to the tree throughout the decades. One notable (and beloved) change is the addition of an honored soloist, who is positioned under the star at the top of the tree.
Another beloved moment of the show is the performance of "White Christmas" – and that’s because the song is accompanied by artificial snow, falling from above.
A "fun-filled event of visual and musical splendor," Belhaven’s Singing Christmas Tree is sure to get you into the holiday spirit – no matter your age.

Each year, there are two performances. This year, the performances are scheduled for November 30th and December 1st -both of which are FREE to the public.
