There’s A Tiny Cottage At Mississippi’s Belmont Plantation That’s Perfect For A Cozy Getaway
Mississippi is home to several plantations that have been transformed into B&Bs. But the majestic mansions aren’t the only structures from the past that have found new life as inns. At the Belmont Plantation, for example, you can book an overnight stay in a former sharecropper’s cabin from the 1800s. Read on to learn more about the tiny cabin from yesteryear.

Located in Greenville, the Belmont Plantation is touted as the last antebellum mansion standing in the Mississippi Delta.
However, many are unaware that the rooms inside the mansion aren’t the only accommodations available for rent. The grounds also include a cabin, Panther Burn Cottage, which is available for rent by overnight guests.
The cabin was constructed back in the 1830s. Originally inhabited by slaves who worked at Panther Burn Plantation, it went on to be used as a medical office for local farmers.
And while great care has been taken to retain the structure’s antiquated charm, it’s been outfitted with all the modern-day amenities you could want, including AC, heat, wi-fi, and a smart TV. Guests of the cottage aren’t confined to its cozy quarters, though.
Those staying at Panther Burn Cottage are welcome to explore the Belmont Plantation and take advantage of common areas, such as the home’s huge screened porches. And don’t forget – a stay at the cottage includes breakfast in the mansion.
