One Of The Oldest Restaurants In Mississippi Is Also The Most Delicious

There’s truly something special about a restaurant that had stood the test of time. It was originally located inside the Union Hotel and was a humble little eatery that had only a counter and four stools! Luckily, business was good and by 1923, it was able to move to its current location.
Many owners have come and gone over the restaurant’s 153 years in business, but one thing is always true: you can’t escape the history.

This tradition dates back to the 1940s when butter was in a bit of a shortage. A guest suggested that peanut butter would be a good substitute to serve with the crackers, and it stuck! Over 80 years later, each table is still set with a handmade peanut butter crock with an assortment of crackers. The crocks are handmade by a local potter, and are available to purchase!
High-quality comfort food is the name of the game here.
