The Best Tacos In Mississippi Are Tucked Inside La Huastequita, An Unassuming Grocery Store

Here in Mississippi, some of the best restaurants aren’t restaurants at all. For instance, you can find some great grub in gas stations throughout the Magnolia State. But it’s not just service stations that double as eateries. Take La Huastequita, for example. It’s touted as a Mexican grocery store and butcher shop, which it is. However, it also serves up some of the state’s best tacos. Take a look:

This is La Huastequita. You’ll find it in Meridian.

A one-stop shop for all of your south-of-the-border cravings, it’s a grocery, butcher shop, and taqueria.

The shelves are stocked with all sorts of goodies, including everything from basic ingredients to quick eats.

There’s also lots of produce.

But the best thing of all is probably the on-site eatery, which serves up an array of classic Mexican dishes, including tacos that are equal parts authentic and tasty.

Customers consistently rave about the tacos, which come stuffed with a variety of meats – from chicken and beef to pork and lamb.

Not only are the tacos authentic, they’re surprisingly inexpensive, with prices ranging from $2.25 - $2.99.

The genuine grub isn’t limited to the items on the menu, though.

There are also specials that are served up periodically.

And since La Huastequita is open 7 days a week, tacos no longer have to be reserved for Tuesdays!
