Garden fresh goods are the best! Unfortunately, many of us don’t have the time or know-how to nurture a garden of fruits and veggies. Fortunately, though, there are plenty of produce stands in the Magnolia State, where you can stock up on straight-from-the-farm goods and so much more. Read on for 8 of our favorites.
Be prepared to spend quite a bit of time at this roadside market, where you’ll find an abundance of fresh, locally grown fruits and veggies. There’s also an array of homemade jams and jellies, local honey, Amish products, and other regional favorites, such as cheese straws.
This Starkville shop opened in 2004 as a full-blown farmers market. Not long after, it was transformed into a year-round go-to spot for fresh fruits and vegetables – all of which is either grown by the barn’s owner or sourced from area farms.

A longtime favorite, this family-owned fruit stand has been supplying Richland residents with garden-fresh goods since 1986. The varied produce selection isn’t the only reason to visit, though. The inventory also includes locally produced jarred goods, baked treats, and lots of plants and flowers. There’s also an on-site food truck, so you can grab some grub and do some shopping all in one place.
Tucked away in a small town, Carol’s Marketplace is a shopping destination worth seeking out. The family-owned and operated business specializes in local produce as well as specialty food items and seasonal goods, such as king cakes. The shelves are also stocked with art and home décor, which means there’s truly something for everyone.
At this lovable Laurel market, you’ll find a little bit of everything, starting with the absolute freshest fruits and vegetables available. Frozen goods, convenience items, and ready-to-eat foods, such as hot tamales and seafood plates, are also up for grabs.
Though this produce stand has been at its current location for over two decades, it’s actually been in the business of peaches for much longer – over 40 years! To this day, the peaches, which are grown personally by the Mathises, are the shop’s specialty. But as the name implies, the inventory includes a variety of other produce, too, most of which is grown on the Mathis family farm. Anything not harvested from the Mathis family farm comes from local farmers, so it’s still just as fresh (and tasty).
A roadside market worth pulling over for, Donna’s #6 Produce has been deemed a migratory and mandatory stop. Each year, thousands of people visit the roadside market, which is brimming with fresh fruits and vegetables, nearly 200 things in a jar, homemade fudge, and a slew of other goodies.

This small town, family-run market has been specializing in home grown produce for over 30 years. And the selection isn’t only fresh, but varied, too. In addition to fruits and veggies, there are eggs, plants, peanuts, and more.
