This Mississippi Waterfall Is Hiding In A State Park And Most People Have No Idea It Exists

The last place you’d expect to find a hidden gem is in a state park, but that’s exactly the case with Mint Springs Bayou Falls. Part of the Vicksburg National Military Park, it’s definitely one of the most beautiful natural wonders in the Magnolia State. Despite its location on the grounds of a wildly popular attraction, Mint Springs Bayou Falls has remained virtually a secret, with many residents completely unaware of its existence. Take a look:
At 30’ in height, Mint Springs Bayou Falls is one of the tallest waterfalls in Mississippi. It's also one of the most obscure.
Unfortunately, the waterfall is off limits to visitors since the path leading to it is pretty unstable. Already extremely rugged, the path becomes even more dangerous during the spring and summer when it’s covered in ivy.
It's also incredibly steep, making it that much more difficult to navigate. Luckily, several photographers have captured the gorgeous waterfall before it was deemed off limits.
