Hiding In Rural Mississippi, Roy's Store Serves Up Some Great Grub In A Unique Setting

Country stores are plentiful in Mississippi. However, none quite compare to Roy’s Store. The rural store has been in business for over 100 years, and signs of its age are everywhere. On top of its historical significance, it boasts a variety of merchandise as well as a café. Take a look:
A small town gem, Roy’s Store is located in Chatham, an unincorporated community in the heart of the Delta.
It’s one of the few Mississippi country stores that have been in business for over 100 years. The store’s long-standing status is pretty impressive, considering it’s survived the Great Depression as well as several floods.
Of course, the store has seen several updates over the years, such as the addition of gas pumps as well as expanding the store to include a café and dining areas.
In addition to bait and tackle, the store carries convenience goods, groceries, hardware, and some odds and ends from the good ol’ days. Oh, and did we mention they carry three flavors of Moon Pies?!
But remember, it’s not just Moon Pies you can fill up on at Roy’s Store. The on-site café serves up southern breakfasts as well as catfish, cheeseburgers, and more.
There’s also a charming little post office, which was built by the store’s owner in the 1980s, as well as several rental cabins, so you can stay as long as you'd like.
