Known as "the Dip" by locals, this Hernando eatery has become famous for its sundaes, milkshakes, and homemade soft-serve ice cream, which comes in over 100 flavors. Aside from traditional items, the menu is also filled with signature creations, like the Elvis Shake, Mexican Shake, and the Mule Slobber.


Another Hernando favorite, Area 51 features a variety of "handmade artisan ice cream," which is made from scratch daily. Among standard flavors, like chocolate and strawberry, you’ll find plenty of one-of-a-kind creations, such as blackberry goat cheese ice cream or peanut butter brownie. At this Grenada eatery, the homemade ice cream is made using old-fashioned recipes, fresh ingredients, and a waterwheel churn, resulting in some of the best in Mississippi. Boasting 35 flavors, the choices include standard options, like chocolate and vanilla, as well as seasonal ones, such as King Cake. The menu also includes classic treats, such as hot fudge sundaes, milkshakes, coke floats, and banana splits.


Located in the Herzer Food Science Building on the MSU campus, the MAFES Sales Store is an extension of the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station. The campus store sells a variety of items that are produced onsite, including ice cream.
