Despite its location in the small town of New Albany, Sugaree’s has grown into one of America’s favorite sweet shops, shipping its treats across the country.
Growing incredibly since its establishment in 1997, Sugaree’s started off as a home-based baking business. Today, it’s a nearly $1 million a year business with a charming storefront.
Over the years, it's become most known for its layer cakes, which are available in an assortment of flavors, including caramel, strawberry, and rainbow.
And while the layer cakes have been featured in several publications, including HuffPost, it’s the chocolate meringue pie that Food Network ranked among America’s best.
But that wasn’t the pie’s only time in the spotlight. Southern Living also recognized the chocolate meringue pie – and that’s in addition to Taste of the South and several other publications.
For more information, call Sugaree’s Bakery at (662) 534-0031. You can also visit the bakery’s website or Facebook page.
So, ever been to Sugaree’s Bakery? Did you try the chocolate meringue pie? If so, what’d you think? Is it worthy of being deemed one of the nation’s best? Tell us in the comments section.
This isn’t the only bakery known for a specific treat. Read about another here.
