The Magical Place In Mississippi That'll Remind You Of Narnia

You may think Narnia and Mississippi have nothing in common. However, that’s not entirely true. There’s actually a place here in the Magnolia State that oozes Narnia-like qualities – so much so, that you’re sure to feel like you’ve stepped through a magical wardrobe.

Calling all fans of *The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe*. You've got to pay a visit to Monmouth Historic Inn in Natchez.

The gardens give off some major Narnia vibes. There's no denying it.

Some fans might even compare it to Narnia’s Garden of Youth.

Just like the fictional garden, the gardens at Monmouth boast lush greenery, colorful blooms, and peaceful solitude.

The two gardens have something else in common – a great scent.

In Narnia’s garden, the pleasing scent comes from flowers and fruits. At Monmouth, it’s caused by flowers and *herbs*.

The gardens at Monmouth are spread out over 26 acres.

Brick walkways wind through the gardens, making them easy to explore.

Charming features, like a pond, bridge, and lion’s-head fountain, only add to the gardens’ magical vibe. There are lots of statues, too – 15 angel statues, to be exact.

The gardens aren’t the only thing you can tour at Monmouth, though. You can actually tour the inside of Monmouth.

Dating back to 1818, the inn boasts tons of history, which you’ll learn about on the guided tour.

Daily tours are free for guests. The general public must buy tickets at the front desk.

Monmouth also has an eatery, Restaurant 1818. Stop by and enjoy a meal after your tour.
