There’s A Canyon In Mississippi That Looks Just Like Antelope Canyon, But Hardly Anyone Knows It Exists
About an hour west of Hattiesburg, you’ll come to one of the most unique, secluded little spots in the state, and the views are insane. Red Bluff is a canyon in Mississippi that may be known to locals, but for the majority of the state, hardly anyone knows it exists. This incredible area is so beautiful, you might think you’ve found yourself in Arizona’s Antelope Canyon but nope! You’re in good old Marion County.
It's easy to see why Red Bluff is known as Mississippi's Grand Canyon.
The erosion has actually taken out two highways over the years! You can still see the remains of the highway. Don’t worry, the road has been blocked off so cars won’t find their way into the canyon.
Red Bluff stands a staggering 400 feet above sea level, which means you’ll have some sensational views when you reach the canyon.
It’s a very primitive trail, with very steep slopes along the way, and you’ll be scrambling for much of the trail. While technically dogs are allowed, this may not be the best trail to bring them on. You may end up carrying them for many of the steep parts!
Many explorers like to hike to the bottom of the canyon to take in the unique landscape.
Go for it! Just make sure you've got on the proper footwear, this is not a flip-flop hike.

This hike is definitely one of the most scenic hikes in the state, but it’s not the only one! There are plenty of scenic hiking trails in Mississippi that aren’t as treacherous but don’t compromise on scenery.
