This Old Fashioned Candy Store In Mississippi Will Make You Feel Like A Kid Again
With a visit to Livingston Sweet Shoppe, the saying, like a kid in a candy store, will go from an expression to reality. The charming candy store carries hundreds of types of candy, including tons of vintage favorites – but that’s not all. There’s also ice cream and gourmet popcorn. Pretty remote, Livingston Sweet Shoppe is located in the unincorporated community of Livingston, which is in the small town of Flora.
You’ll find Livingston at the intersection of highways 463 and 22 in Madison County.
The charming candy shop fits in perfectly in Livingston. The picturesque community has recently been revived and designed to look like a town from the late 1800s.
In addition to the candy shop, Livingston includes two restaurants, a mercantile store, and cooking school.
Livingston Sweet Shoppe opened in the summer of 2015. Despite being in business for less than four years, it’s already a favorite of kids – and kids at heart, which probably has something to do with the huge assortment of vintage candies.
Stock up on all your favorites from the past. You’ll find all sorts of classics, like rock candy, wax lips, and NECCO Wafers.
The shop’s old-timey vibe is evident way before you look at the candy, though. As soon as you step inside, you’re sure to notice the hundreds of old fashioned jars that hold the candy.
