Over the past few years, salt caves have become increasingly popular and seem to be popping up everywhere – including Mississippi. That’s right; earlier this year, Mississippi’s very first salt cave opened in Flowood. As incredible as it sounds, a visit should definitely be on your bucket list. Take a look:
At first glance, the Soul Synergy Center in Flowood looks like a typical spa. However, it’s anything but, and that’s because it’s home to the only salt cave in Mississippi.
Why visit a salt cave? The salt contains negatively charged ions that improve our health and mood. Simply inhaling the dry salt air can reduce lung inflammation and improve respiratory conditions, like asthma, allergies, sinus congestion, and more.
The salt cave at Soul Synergy Center may not be a naturally-occurring salt cave, but it comes pretty darn close.
Soul Synergy Center’s salt cave is comprised of Himalayan sea salt, which comes directly from the salt mines in Pakistan and is the highest quality available. But that’s not all. The salt cave also includes a halogenerator, which is a machine that infuses the room with dry salt air, mimicking the climate of an authentic salt cave.
All salt cave sessions are 45 minutes and begin on the hour, every hour. Sessions can be purchased a la carte or as a package. Prices range from $33 for a single session to $165 for a month of unlimited sessions.

With its tranquil atmosphere, it should come as no surprise that the salt cave is also used for meditation sessions.
