Carl Baker, owner of Hot Dog Man, is definitely a believer of the old adage: If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Since opening Hot Dog Man in the 90s, not much has changed at the eatery. Over the years, there have been only a few additions to the menu, and the prices have barely budged. Serving up great grub at prices to match, a visit to Hot Dog Man is sure to hit the spot. This is Hot Dog Man. A quintessential hole-in-the-wall, its outward appearance is no indication of the tastiness that awaits inside.
Since opening in 1995, the eatery has garnered a reputation for dishing out some of Vicksburg’s best cheap eats – and that includes hot dogs that are big in size and tastiness.
Just as you’d expect, Hot Dog Man is a casual, no-frills type of place. But not everything is as you’d expect – take for example, the two medieval armor suits that greet diners as they enter.
The huge menu plastered on the wall, more specifically the prices, are also sure to be a bit unexpected. Since opening, the prices on food have only increased by about a quarter!
Hot dogs – both classic and jumbo – are the star of the show at Hot Dog Man. In fact, the eatery goes through about 40 cases of hot dogs each month. But that’s not all you’ll find on the menu.
