The problem with Mississippi’s most popular parks is that, well, they’re popular, which, oftentimes, means crowded. But you don’t have to fight crowds to soak up some park perks – so long as you visit Petal River Park. So hidden that most locals don’t even know about it, the small town park might be Mississippi’s best-kept secret.
With roughly 11,000 residents, Petal isn’t one of the state’s most sought-after destinations…until now, and that’s because it’s where you’ll find Petal River Park.
In addition to the park’s permanent amenities, there are seasonal events to enjoy, including the Star Spangled Celebration on the River, an annual 4th of July event.
With so much to offer, Petal River Park couldn’t possibly get any better, right?! Wrong! Future plans for the park include a disc golf course, archery fields, a nature-themed playground, and more.
