Just as the name implies, comfort food is, well, comforting. And no other food on earth brings comfort like southern cooking. In addition to being out-of-this-world delicious, the hearty meals provide a little taste of home. Luckily, Mississippi has several restaurants where you can get your fill of southern classics…and Rowdy’s Family Restaurant is definitely one of them. The Vicksburg eatery is known for serving a slew of home cooked favorites, making it the perfect place to fill up on all your favorite comfort foods. Take a look:
Tucked away in a modest building, Rowdy’s Family Restaurant has been serving up mouthwatering catfish, fried chicken, and other southern comfort foods since 1988.
Aside from an entrée, you’ll get 2 sides, cornbread, tea, and the dessert of the day – all for only $9.99 (with the exception of the Veggie Plate, which is $7.99).
Po’ boys, hamburgers, and the restaurant’s signature club sandwich are also among the tasty fare.
The delicious dessert has been the focus of several TV shows, including Bizarre Foods. Most recently, it’s been selected as the food that will represent Mississippi during a 3-day festival produced by executives from the Food Network.
From the inviting atmosphere to the amazing food, it’s no surprise that Rowdy’s Family Restaurant has been a Vicksburg favorite for nearly a century.
