Celebrate The More Than 100 Published Writers Who’ve Called Mississippi Home At The Greenville Writer’s Exhibit
It’s no secret that Mississippi has produced some great writers. But what you may not realize is that a majority of those writers hail from Greenville. In fact, Greenville boasts “more published writers per capita” than any other town in the country! Proud of its famous residents, Greenville is home to an incredible exhibit that pays homage to the plethora of talented writers that have called Greenville home. Take a look:

Dubbed “the heart and soul of the Delta,” Greenville is a city rich in history and culture. And part of that culture is a rich literary heritage.
Novelists Walker Percy, Beverly Lowry, and Ellen Douglas as well as PBS commentator Hodding Carter III all grew up in Greenville. And then there’s William Faulkner, who was an occasional resident.
Not surprisingly, Greenville is home to a sprawling library.
For more information, call William Alexander Percy Memorial Library at (662) 335-2331. You can also visit the library’s website. Additionally, you can check out the Visit Greenville website or Facebook page.
So, did you know about this incredible literary exhibit? Ever visited? If so, what’d you think? Tell us in the comments section.
This isn’t the only must-visit for literary lovers. Read about another here.
