Home to the state’s best beaches, a visit to Ship Island is a must on any beach-inspired road trip. Luckily, you don’t need a boat to get there. Instead, you can hop aboard a ferry at the Gulfport Small Craft Harbor, and in just under an hour, you’ll arrive at your tropical destination. The ferry departs at 9 a.m. as well as 12 p.m. Board the ferry at 1040 23rd Ave., Gulfport, MS 39501.

Keep in mind, if you catch the noon ferry to Ship Island, you can make Shaggy’s your first stop, so you can grab a quick bite before hitting the beach. The recently opened "state of the art outdoor go kart racing complex" offers an adrenaline-pumping experience for all ages. Finish up your road trip with a visit to the "gem of the Gulf Coast" – Ocean Springs. At over 300 years old, the city is loaded with history, beauty, and charm.
