This Yurt Near Lake Superior In Minnesota Lets You Glamp In Style
Camping is fun, but sometimes it’s challenging to be away from all the comforts of home. It requires preparation, planning, and packing all of the right items to be sure you have a good trip. But sometimes that’s just too much work. That’s where glamping comes in. It’s like camping in that it lets you get out in nature, but it includes a few more of the amenities you’re used to. Luckily for Minnesota’s would-be glampers, there are plenty of great places that let you camp in style. One of our favorites is a 16.5-acre homestead in northern Minnesota where you can get away from it all while still being in close proximity to all that Lake Superior has to offer. In Two Harbors, Minnesota, Wildhaven is a beautiful 16.5-acre homestead where you can spend the night in a lovely hand-built yurt.
There is a lot to love about this glamping experience. For one thing, it's surrounded by peaceful nature scenes. The yurt looks out over a peaceful prairie lined by trees.
If you like, you can even hike among the trees. A 1-mile trail on the property lets guests explore the landscape and appreciate the beautiful northern Minnesota woods.
Not far from the yurt - about a 9-mile drive - Lake Superior awaits. The yurt owners offer two foldable kayaks and life jackets for those who would like to spend some time on the water.
When you're done exploring outside, head back to your home away from home. Inside this beautiful space, you'll find plenty of comforts. A queen bed is outfitted with cozy linens that you'll love curling up in.
There's also a small kitchen area with a fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, and French press coffee maker. It's enough to make a simple meal, and guests are encouraged to bring a crockpot or instant pot to make mealtime even easier.
In between sleeping, cooking, and enjoying the outdoors, try to squeeze in some time for relaxation. There's a small sitting area with a comfortable couch and a table. It's perfect for playing board games, reading, or simply relaxing.
For going to the bathroom, you'll find a small privy steps away from the yurt. While rustic, it is clean and well-maintained. If you'd like a shower during your stay, your stay comes with access to one in the house.
All in all, this beautiful yurt is packed with amenities and offers beautiful scenery. Its location on the North Shore gives easy access to Lake Superior. Truly, it is one of the most peaceful glamping experiences you'll find anywhere!
