One great place to do this is at a little-known place called Sunflower Ranch. It’s in Big Lake, Minnesota, and it has welcomed visitors to its annual Sunflower Fest since 2018. Sunflower Ranch is a 1-acre sunflower farm in Big Lake, Minnesota. It's about 40 miles northwest of Minneapolis, making it a great day trip destination for many Minnesotans.
Since 2018, the owners of the field have held an annual event called Sunflower Fest. This free event allows visitors to freely roam the field. It has become a popular spot for photographers and people seeking family photos.
In fact, the owners make it easy for you to get great shots. There are props positioned around the field, from wagon wheels to old-fashioned pickup trucks. These make a wonderful, country-style backdrop for your latest set of family photos.
The 2020 sunflower season begins in August. The sunflower field will be in full bloom around the second week of August. Visitors are welcome from sunup to sundown.
