There’s An Incredible Meteor Shower Happening This Summer And Minnesota Has A Front Row Seat

Minnesota has a few large metro areas that boast hundreds of thousands – or even millions – of people. But there are still large sections of Minnesota that are far from the lights of the city. While they may not seem to have much to offer – especially after dark – there is one incredible event happening this summer that can only be viewed far from the city. The Perseids meteor shower is one of the best of the year, and Minnesota has a front row seat.

When you venture far enough from the city, Minnesota’s skies are beautiful every season of the year.

Unlike last year, the 2018 shower will have perfectly dark skies. There will be no full moon. In fact, the crescent moon will set in the early evening.

Your best bet to see the sky in all its glory is by heading out of the city. Minnesota's state parks are excellent places to watch. But anywhere with a darkened sky will do!

The Perseids Meteor Shower is the perfect opportunity to get outside this summer. Even better: it will happen during a weekend!
