Here in Minnesota, most of the best restaurants seem to be in Minneapolis and St. Paul – or so they say. But we’re here to tell you that there are plenty of outstanding eateries well outside of the Twin Cities. You can get cuisine of all kinds in Minnesota’s small towns. Today, we’ll prove it with a spot in the small town of East Bethel, Minnesota, called Smokey’s Pub N’ Grill. Stop into this small-town joint for some of the best BBQ around.
Smokey’s Pub N’ Grill is a little-known spot in East Bethel, Minnesota. But those who have heard about it rave. Pull up to the bright red building on any given day, and you're bound to see at least a few cars in the parking lot.
Inside, a typical small-town pub awaits. You'll find a long bar with plenty of high-top tables. But you'll find more than the standard drinks here. The bar at Smokey's has more than 100 craft beers up for grabs.
If you're looking for more of a restaurant vibe, there's a full dining room set apart from the bar. Each of the tables is decked out with all the sauce - and napkins - that you need. Your meal is bound to get messy!
So what's on the menu at Smokey's? For starters, there are a dozen app choices. Try the bacon-wrapped jumbo shrimp, the redneck tater tots, or classic cheese curds. Or mix it up with a pulled pork egg roll!
Don't stop with the apps, though. There's a full menu of great entrees. There are nine excellent burger options, each served with French fries or tater tots.
Other sandwiches, salads, wraps, and even tacos round out the rest of the menu. No matter what you get, it'll be filling enough that you won't want to eat for hours - or longer.
But it's the BBQ that draw's most visitors into Smokey's. Try ribs or slow-smoked beef brisket for a savory, mouthwatering meal. Sides include beans, coleslaw, and a roll.
The pulled pork is another fan favorite. Dry-rubbed, slow-smoked, and served on a bun, you can drizzle it with a sauce of your choice and chow down. It'll be gone in a flash - it's that good.
Of course, you can always order the Ultimate Platter to try a bit of everything. You get ribs, brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, sausage, corn bread, buns, beans, and slaw. Yum!
