Those who want to get away can book a stay at a private island in northern Minnesota. Known as Boogenhagen Island, this beautiful retreat is operated as an Airbnb.

The one-acre island is a short distance from Grey Wolf Lodge. It is here that guests will park their cars and launch their boats into Pelican Lake.

The dock at Boogenhagen is the perfect spot to park a boat or two. It would also make a peaceful place to cast a line, do some reflecting, or just take in the scenery.

But eventually you'll want to go inside. The island is home to a hand-hewn cabin that will more than meet your need to get away.

For one thing, it has plenty of places to sleep. The cabin has a bedroom, a pullout couch, and a bunkhouse that sleeps two.

The common areas are comfortable as well. The cabin comes with a full kitchen featuring plenty of seating in a cozy atmosphere.

Despite being on a private island, the cabin does come with its share of amenities. There is an outdoor bathroom and sauna, television, and even internet.

Of course, the best part will be the scenic beauty that surrounds you on all sides. You can enjoy the view of the forest and lake from the large porch. Guests who have stayed at Boogenhagen Island in the past note that it's a great spot for birdwatching!
