This Rustic Destination In Minnesota Will Give You A Glimpse Into Another Era
While Minnesota has been inhabited for thousands of years, the land was not officially a state until 1858. While many of the remnants of the 19th century ago are long gone, there are still ways to experience the olden days in Minnesota. One great spot is a rustic destination on Minnesota’s prairie. Visiting will take you back in time. Take a look:
Sod House on the Prairie is located at 12598 Magnolia Ave., Sanborn, MN 56083.
Sod houses were often built on the western frontier during the settlement of the United States and Canada. Because the prairie lacked many trees or stone, prairie grass sod was used to construct buildings instead.
Sod House on the Prairie is a great recreation of this century-old way of living. The cost to visit is $4 per guest, and it's well worth it for the glimpse of history.
