Red Rock Falls County Park is a small but beautiful park in Sanborn, Minnesota. This small town in Cottonwood County is about 130 miles southwest of the Twin Cities.
Much of the park is covered by a prairie landscape. The wide-open fields are a beautiful departure from the forested lands that cover much of Minnesota.
Venture further into the park and you'll find a small, rocky creek. Covered by shade, this is a cool place to take refuge from the sun if you visit on a hot day.
Venture even further into the park, and you'll come across a deep, rock-lined gorge filled in with water. This rugged area looks out of place on the Minnesota prairie, making it that much more impressive.
You'll also come across another waterfall, this one tall and skinny. The rushing waters tumble into the gorge. It looks like something you might find on the North Shore!
Have you ever visited Red Rock Falls County Park? What was your favorite part? If you’re interested in planning a trip to the area, also add the nearby Jeffers Petroglyphs to your itinerary. It’s only 5 miles away from the park, and it’s a fascinating stop!
