Minnesota is filled to the brim with cool towns that are home to quirky attractions at every time of year. Each of these is worth visiting, but there are some towns that particularly come alive during the autumn season. One of our favorites is Wabasha, Minnesota, the quirky town that transforms into a pumpkin wonderland every fall.

Wabasha is in the southeastern part of Minnesota. It's about 84 miles, or almost 2 hours, outside of the Twin Cities.

This little town is lovely all year, partly thanks to its location along the shores of the Mississippi River. This scenic region of Minnesota is full of rolling hills and river bluffs.

It is also home to a charming downtown lined with historic buildings. Wabasha is one of the oldest towns in Minnesota!

Come fall, Wabasha transforms into a pumpkin wonderland thanks to a festival known as SeptOberfest.

But if you're not a pumpkin fan, don't fret! Scarecrow contests, free concerts, and carriage rides are some of the other festivities of this two-month event.
