Every once in a while, it’s nice to get away from it all. But it’s not always feasible to plan a vacation that involves flights, rental cars, and hotel stays. Not only are these getaways expensive, but they often end up being less relaxing than just staying at home. Luckily, there’s an off-grid lodge in Minnesota that proves you don’t have to stray far from home to have a peaceful time. Next time you’re craving a quiet oasis, try booking a stay in this beautiful northern Minnesota cabin. Check it out:
Nels Lake lodge is a beautiful cabin on Nels Lake in northern Minnesota. It's in the Boundary Waters area, about 5 miles north of Ely.
From the comfort of the cabin, you'll have amazing views of the forest. A patio above the tree line means you'll be able to see over a long distance. There have been many wildlife sightings here!
Outside the cabin, guests are free to use the fire pit, complete with a ring of rustic stump seats. Build a fire in the evening, and watch the stars come out. You won't want to be anywhere else.
Venture even farther from the cabin to go canoeing or fishing on nearby Nels Lake. The cabin has canoes and fishing poles for guests to use. Head out for a day to enjoy all that Mother Nature has to offer.
When you're done exploring the outdoors, the cabin awaits with all the comforts of home. There is a spacious living room with plenty of seating. Up to 10 guests can stay here.
The kitchen is also outfitted with everything you need for your stay - just bring food! This place is truly off-grid, so it runs on a generator. The hosts will provide instructions for using everything.
And when it comes time to sleep, you'll have a comfortable bed waiting for you. One room has a king-sized bed, the second has a queen and a twin, and the third has a double and seven twins. There's a place for everyone at this off-grid oasis!
Would you ever stay somewhere off-the-grid? For more information about booking this beautiful lodge, take a look at their page on VRBO. And if that cabin is a little too off-grid for you, check out our article about a remote Minnesota lodge that serves up amazing food.
