The Oldest General Store Near Minneapolis Has A Fascinating History
Drive 40 miles northeast of Minneapolis and you’ll come into the quaint town of Marine on St. Croix. Located on the banks of the St. Croix River, this tiny town was once a booming logging community. These days, it boasts the oldest general store in Minnesota. The minute you step inside, you’ll see why people still love coming here after over 100 years.

There have been major changes over the years, including solar panels added on the room and modern fixtures to assist shoppers.

Marine General Store, even at nearly 150 years old, still has its original wood floors.
