When it comes to states with excellent breweries, most people do not think of putting Minnesota near the top of the list. But the Land of 10,000 Lakes may surprise you. Our state is home to nearly 200 breweries, according to a 2019 count, making it one of the top 15 brewery-filled states in the nation. There are plenty of large breweries that are well-known to beer-loving Minnesotans, such as Castle Danger in Two Harbors, Summit in St. Paul, and Surly in Minneapolis. Karst Brewing is a small brewery in the tiny town of Fountain, Minnesota. This little town is in southeastern Minnesota, about 120 miles outside of the Twin Cities. Their taproom is housed in a former one-room schoolhouse!

When you arrive, you'll find a small, 612-square-foot taproom in which to enjoy your drinks. Though it is small, you'll enjoy the cozy, casual atmosphere. Feel free to bring food to enjoy along with your drinks!
