The Verne Drive-In is found at 1607 S Kniss Ave., Luverne, MN 56156. If this southwestern Minnesota town doesn't sound familiar, you may want to read up on its beautiful Blue Mounds State Park.

As for the theater, it dates back to the 1950s. The original screen stands to this day! After the drive-in closed in 1988, it stood unused for 12 long years.

When the drive-in reopened in 2000, it brought back a beloved summertime tradition. Before the reopening, there was not a drive-in within 100 miles of Luverne in any direction.

Today, the drive-in is a popular spot for people who live in Luverne and the surrounding communities. It's also an economical way to catch up on movies, with double features being the standard every night.
