Touch the Sky Prairie is a little-known prairie in southwestern Minnesota. It's in the small town of Luverne, about 200 miles southwest of the Twin Cities.

Touch the Sky Prairie is part of the Northern Tallgrass Prairie National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge covers over 12,000 acres, with Touch the Sky stretching across 1,200 acres of it.

The prairie preserves a wide variety of plants and animals that are not seen in other parts of the world. Uncommon animal species, such as the Dakota skipper or grasshopper sparrow, make the northern prairie home. Without protection of their habitat, they face the threat of extinction.
