Minnetonka’s Boom Island Brewing Company and Taproom is a dog-friendly brewery in Minnesota where the bartenders may be happier to see your fur baby than they are to see you. Either way, you’ll get to enjoy an awesome brew with your favorite wing dog!
Although named for an island in the Mississippi River, Boom Island’s taproom is now located in the western Twin Cities suburb of Minnetonka.
One of Boom Island’s neighbors is a local dog rescue non-profit, Second Hand Hounds. Boom Island regularly partners with Second Hand Hounds to host “puppy parties” and other adoption events. Cute puppies in need of a home surrounded by dog-lovers lubricated with beer - what could go wrong? Not a thing!
You’ll also find plenty of non-dog-oriented events, like live music and trivia nights, at the brewery.
But your pup is still welcome to attend! We always try to have a canine helper on our trivia team - in case we get a question about squirrels or fire hydrants.
On your way to Boom Island, burn off some of your dog’s energy with a walk through charming and historic downtown Hopkins – it’s just a few minutes away from the brewery. It’ll help you both relax a little more once you get to the brewery.
