The Lobster Roll From Smack Shack In Minnesota Has A Cult Following, And There’s A Reason Why
When thinking of iconic foods in Minnesota, lobster rolls may not be the first thing that springs to mind. But thanks to the cult following that Smack Shack’s succulent sandwiches have gained, its lobster rolls are a paragon of the Twin Cities food scene.
Smack Shack traces its roots to 2010, when it was nothing a but lobster roll-slinging food truck. Love for its lobster rolls allowed Smack Shack to open its first brick-and-mortar location in the North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis.
Don’t pass up one of the full bar’s world-class bloody marys.
Guess what! You don’t actually have to go to Smack Shack to get one of its lobster rolls. Back when it was just a food truck, Smack Shack partnered with The 1029 Bar in Northeast Minneapolis to serve its food during winter months. Today, thanks to that early partnership, you can still get several Smack Shack staples, including lobster rolls, at The 1029.
