When you think of incredible heights, Minnesota doesn’t exactly come to mind. After all, Minnesota’s highest point is a mere 2,301 feet above sea level. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t opportunities to climb high. At one state park in Minnesota, you’ll start below the trees and end up high above their canopies. Mille Lacs Kathio State Park is a lesser known park in central Minnesota. The park is an important archeological site, home to more than 9,000 years of human history.

It is also home to incredible natural beauty. One of the best things you can do is hike its many trails. In particular, the half-mile Touch the Earth Trail takes you under a thick canopy of trees.
